About Sean smith

Sean Smith is a concert production & event industry veteran, with over a decade of experience in his field. He has worked with a variety of artists across a wide range of genres, including Grammy Nominated electronic act ODESZA, jam band legends Phish, up and comers Goose, living members of the Grateful Dead in varying lineups including Bob Weir & The Wolf Bros and Phil Lesh & Friends, Greensky Bluegrass, Billy Strings, My Morning Jacket, as well as long time and current clients Joe Russo’s Almost Dead.
Sean has been a part of several of the largest and most successful festivals, including Governor’s Ball, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, and SweetWater Festival. With a foundation built upon his time as a venue video director and valued member of both Brooklyn Bowl and the Capitol Theatre production staff, Sean has added years of tour experience and success to his resume.
During his tenure with Gateway Studios and Production Services, Sean was instrumental in integrating Tecnopoint camera motion technology paired with Panasonic 4K Robotic Cameras, into industry leading 4K broadcasts, replicating dynamic shots and movements in real time, as well as maintaining systems during the set up and break down. While off the road, he assisted in engineering responsibilities which included building Blackmagic Video system fly packs and maintaining Ross Video fly packs. Using his hands on experience, Sean assisted the video department with the prep and packing of various packages for tours and events. Sean was involved in the building of Gateway’s 4K HDR capable broadcast trailer, which saw use with Phish during his time at the company.
